MIT-WPU signs MOU with MSEDCL for knowledge sharing – pv magazine India


This mutually beneficial initiative will lead to a rich exchange of knowledge and allow students and faculty to align with the latest industry practices and conduct collaborative research.

MITWPU School of Electrical Engineering at MIT World Peace University, Kothrud has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for various industrial and academic activities of mutual interest, relating to the fields of Energy (i.e. Electric Vehicles, Renewable Energy, Smart Grids, Electrical Safety, SCADA, Energy Savings, Substation Tours, Automation Projects and Real-Time Based Industry Issues).

This multi-disciplinary MoU will benefit students and faculty by gaining knowledge and understanding the latest trends in the energy sector. This collaboration aims to prepare them for the future. This MoU will improve the technical skills of employees and fill the skills gap related to the energy industry. As part of the MoU, MIT-WPU faculty will also provide training to MSEDCL staff as needed.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at MIT World Peace University on September 8, 2022. The MoU was signed by Dr. Prasad Khandekar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Bharat Chaudhari, Principal of Electrical Engineering School and Dean of Studies, MIT-WPU, Mr. Satish Rajdeep, Superintendent Engineer, MSEDCL, Ganeshkhind Urban Circle, Mr. Avinash Kaldhone, Executive Engineer, Kothrud Division, Dr. Santosh Patani , Dy. Executive Engineer and Training Coordinator, MSEDCL, Pune, Dr. Netra Lokhande, Prof. Anjali Purohit, Prof. Supriya Paygude and others were present at the signing event.

Dr. Prasad Khandekar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and others said, “This mutually beneficial initiative will lead to a rich exchange of knowledge and enable students and faculty to align with the latest practices. industry and conduct collaborative research. This collaboration will help us develop a talent pool that would have an advantage, be equipped with advanced knowledge and reduce the skills gap. This next-generation university focuses on research, innovation and entrepreneurship and strong links with industry are needed to fill the gaps in industry institutes.
