Bombay (Maharashtra) [India], Jun 18 (ANI/Lokmat Media Group): On the silver jubilee year of Lokmat Mumbai edition, in a grand ceremony, a special magazine “Panchvis Varshanchi Mumbai” was launched in the historic central hall of the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra. The magazine has a collection of articles based on the city. Welcoming the initiative, politicians and distinguished guests hailed the magazine. Speaking on the show, Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad lamented that there is no more affection between two leaders of different parties. People have started to hate politics due to the current scenario, he said. Agreeing with Awhad, Legislative Council Speaker Ramraje Nimbalkar said regardless of political ideology, one should respect others and Lokmat newspaper should play a key role in maintaining harmony in society .
Vijay Darda, chairman of Lokmat Media Group, said the major problem today was that a majority part of society has become callous and lost patience. We should abandon the myopic attitude and adopt a cautious approach. Nowadays, people don’t trust other media, but they still trust print media. Addressing the rally, Rajendra Darda, editor-in-chief of Lokmat, said Lokmat was the voice of the masses because its focus remained on local news and hard-hitting news. Atul Kulkarni, Editor of Mumbai Lokmat explained the concept of this special issue. Eminent personalities such as Mohsina Mukadam, Suhas Bahulkar, Nitin Vaidya, Rajeev Khandekar, Dilip Thakur, Ram Dotonde, Sharada Sathe, Prashant Dalvi and Anu Malik who contributed to this special magazine were praised during the program. Historical Program in the Central Hall of Maharashtra State Legislature ‘Panchvis Varshanchi Mumbai’ is a historical collection issue of the events of the past 25 years in Mumbai and hence the idea was to hold the launch program in a historical place.
