Lincoln, Ford Motor Co.’s luxury auto brand in Dearborn, has unveiled the Lincoln Star Concept, which hints at the design language of future electric vehicles.

Lincoln plans to deliver three new all-electric vehicles in the coming years. With the additional vehicles, more than half of Lincoln’s global volume will be zero-emission vehicles. It will add a fourth vehicle by the end of 2026.

“It’s a shining example of what happens when we combine Lincoln luxury with flexible electric architecture to create unimaginable experiences for customers,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. “We can truly revolutionize the way people interact with the brand and extend it through an exciting line of products that catapult Lincoln into the digital and connected age.”

Lincoln reported its best annual global sales in 21 years, up 7% from 2021, and plans to continue the momentum with the recent launches of the all-new Zephyr in China and the new Navigator in North America.

“As Lincoln enters the next chapter in our transition to a zero-emissions future, the Lincoln Star Concept will pave the way for our portfolio of all-electric vehicles,” said Joy Falotico, president of Lincoln. “It’s a great example of how we’re redefining luxury for the next generation as we work to transform the vehicle into a third space – a true sanctuary – for our customers.”

In a nod to Lincoln’s evolved design language, the Star Concept silhouette uses design, light, displays, scents and sounds to create an immersive experience for drivers and passengers.

Features include illuminated crystals, as well as backlit doors, seats and exterior features, as well as instrument panel lights welcoming people as they approach the vehicle.

The company’s flexible rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive battery-electric architecture and next-generation Lincoln Intelligence System enable the new design and connected experiences that the Star Concept offers. The flexible architecture means engineers and designers could reinvent the additional interior space in new and exciting ways to create a unique Lincoln experience.

The new Lincoln Intelligence System takes the definition of “digital assistant” to a new dimension, enabling experiences such as connected vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure capabilities, as well as cutting-edge driver assistance features such as Help Me See and Park. for me.

Both in design and in color composition, the interior is uniquely divided into first and second row areas. The entire cabin experience in the first and second row is top of the line, with very spacious wraparound seats, reclined lounge posture, individual leg rests and storage for devices and slippers, controls for rejuvenating ambiences and a luxurious integrated glass beverage cooler between the rear seats.

The feeling of space is enhanced by a 3D-printed wire mesh on the A-pillar along the windshield and the D-pillar on the rear window of the Lincoln Star Concept – visible from the interior. Transparent pillars, along with a skylight complete with digital shade, invite in natural light to enhance the open and airy feel of the space.

A horizontal curved coast-to-coast screen creates a digital panorama in which content flows seamlessly into an integrated center control screen and then into the second-row screen, creating a unique experience for all The passengers. New materials include leather and chrome alternatives and several unique finishes.

Three rejuvenating moods join a new Lincoln Embrace sequence harmonizing audio, fragrances and lighting throughout the cabin. Symphonic orchestration with crisp, high-resolution animations on the screens create an immersive digital sanctuary. Whether stuck in traffic or simply enjoying a few moments of calm after work, the rejuvenating atmospheres offer a real sanctuary in a third space:

  • Coastal Morning uses soft ocean sounds, a scent of sea mist, and the soft, warm glow of the sun with dynamic lighting to replicate a walk on the beach at sunrise.
  • Mindful Vitality is meant to re-energize the senses, with invigorating, upbeat sound, vibrant abstract artwork, soft, bright lighting, and floral fragrance throughout.
  • Evening Chill mirrors twilight using a soothing nocturnal soundtrack coordinated with video of the night sky and evergreen fragrance.

The three moods are built around the body’s natural circadian rhythm of morning, day and evening. With the help of connected technology, moods will offer content updates and ways for customers to customize their settings in the future.

Utilizing space no longer occupied by a gasoline engine, a front trunk allows for ample storage space, increasing the feeling of space inside. With electrochromatic glass that changes from clear to opaque, the front trunk is instantly recognizable, letting in light when the vehicle is in motion and darkening to hide stored valuables when parked.

Beneath the front trunk, illuminated first-row floorboards flow seamlessly into the cabin, creating an airy and open cabin.

A floating, wing-shaped instrument panel, inspired by airplane fins, emphasizes horizontal balance and poise, while the Lincoln one-touch pedal provides effortless operation. The interior also includes Lincoln Attaché, a digital briefcase concept with a hidden compartment in the coach’s rear door that not only securely stores tablets and laptops, but also serves as a charger for devices and can transparently detect incoming wireless content for customers. .

Finally, a redesigned rear cargo area includes a lounge mode that converts to a comfortable and forgiving outdoor seat to bring the destination closer.

“The Lincoln Star Concept has been a true labor of love for our team and provides us with a platform to share and test our experiences and design philosophy with customers as we develop our Quiet Flight DNA,” says Kemal. Curic, Global Design Director of Lincoln. . “Meaning transcendence in both space and time, the concept creates a sense of peace and serenity in an electric experience and provides a glimpse of what’s to come from Lincoln.”
