Lawson’s Finest launches its Black IPA, Big Hoppy

Intensely dark, bold and bitter, Big Hoppy should satisfy fans this fall

Vermont Business Magazine For the very first time and just in time for fall, Lawson’s Finest Liquids is launching a dark IPA in the Northeast. Big Hoppy, a 7.5% alcohol black IPA with a bold flavor profile, is now available for the first time in the brewery’s nine-state distribution area: VT, CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA and RI.

Made with huge additions of five hop varieties and seven malts, Big Hoppy is a dark, decadent brew reflecting a resinous, sticky fusion and intense bitterness for the most dedicated hopheads. With its powerful aromas and bold taste, the beer leads with a roasted flavor profile complemented by its characteristic bitterness resulting from a powerful blend of hops.

“Big Hoppy was first brewed in a limited batch before being moved to Lawson’s Finest Taproom,” said Sean Lawson, CEO and founding brewer of Lawson’s Finest Liquids. “As a Black IPA, it offers something unique for fall. Our Taproom fans have made it clear that Big Hoppy is a seasonal favourite, so we couldn’t be more excited to launch the beer in the Northeast for the first time this year.

Big Hoppy is the latest beer to launch as part of Lawson’s Finest specialty release schedule. Until the end of October, Big Hoppy is available in packs of 4 at retailers in the Northeast. Later this year, the brewery will continue its schedule of specialty launches with Mad River Maple and its famous barrel-aged winter lager.
